Spielberg, 10 July 2022. The second win of his season for the Dutch driver Richard Verschoor of Trident in the eighth round of the FIA Formula 2 category. It was the result of an efficient strategy and perfect driving by the strong racer.
The Trident Motorsport driver, despite the still wet track due to the rain that had fallen a few minutes earlier, and the team's technical staff, made the decision to start with slick tires and surprise the competitor. The strategy had risks, but was well sorted and put into practice.
Right decision, Verschoor's race has become relentless! He took the first position and exerted absolute dominance. The winner made no mistakes and firmly believed in a victory that revives him in the championship.
"It was a dominant performance. I thank the team for providing me with a fantastic car. It was really special to win on this track, I'm overjoyed!" says the racer.
Today's triumph in Spielberg's Feature Race provides unique emotions, alongside the success of the Dutchman, Calan Williams started from sixteenth on the starting grid and confirmed the same result. The points area was far away given the starting position and it was not possible to adopt the same tactic for both cars.
