Team Title for AF Corse and Driver Title to Pierguidi

One more victory in AF Corse palmares

AF Corse Ferrari Team supporting SMP Racing adds a new success to its rich palmares with the victory at the 1000km of Castellet at Paul Ricard Circuit. With this victory the Italian team conquers the GT World Challenge Europe Title 2020. A special line-up was deployed for the occasion: Italian veteran Alessandro Pierguidi, the British Tom Blomqvist and the French Côme Lodogar. The drivers triumphed with Ferrari #51 after a brilliant recovery.

The dream to get the European Title was slowly vanishing due to the regular fast pace of Porsche #12 that was leading the race with an immeasurable distance of 14 seconds. Race podium and the Title seemed long gone, but in motorsport nothing is sure till the very last moment. Thanks to an unstoppable, almost surgical, recovery operated by Lodogar Ferrari #51 placed just a step behind the second opponent Lamborghini #63 Orange1 FFF Racing. At the fourth pit stop Pierguidi managed to overcome the Lamborghini gaining the P2 and becoming a real threat to Porsche's dream.

45 minutes to go the team makes its final move. Porsche decides to make the last wheel change entering the boxes. Ferrari does the same taking a strategic decision: changing only the wheels on the left side. This helped the Ferrari to gain precious seconds. The trick works and Ferrari #51 takes the lead. The problem is: how can you leave a raging Porsche with brand new wheels behind? Pierguidi gave it all and with iron-willpower he crossed the finishing line 1.6 seconds ahead of Porsche. Chronometer is merciless.

AF Corse gets the Team Title while Pierguidi gets the Title for the best GT European Driver. Partnering and be a fan of the Team is pretty easy for Pakelo. We've been working hard through the years to make our racing transmission oil be worthy to balance extreme protection and high performance even in those moments when all you have to do is defending that precious 1.6 seconds time gap.
